Open Spaces
I am a lifelong resident of Warwick and have spent my entire working life making our island more beautiful by enhancing the natural beauty of our island through landscaping. Bermuda is only 13,440 acres in size. Warwick is Bermuda's second most densely populated parish. We must protect the few remaining open spaces remaining in Warwick and throughout our lovely island. Like most Bermudians I agree that it is important to have a new hotel in Bermuda, but we must encourage developers to build on “brown fields” (areas that have already been developed) and not demolish woodlands or virgin land. We need to turn Southlands into a green belt protected for all future generations to enjoy.
